Membership

The Police Central Welfare Fund (PCWF) membership types are as follows:

Ordinary Membership

All serving Police Officers (regulars and full-time National Servicemen) and Narcotic Officers of the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) are PCWF Ordinary members. Civilian staff working in the Police Force may apply to join the PCWF but their membership shall cease upon their posting to other agencies or leaving service. Regular Police Officers who leave active service due to retirement and who are subsequently re-employed as civilian staff in the SPF and are interested to continue as PCWF members have to apply to join the PCWF on-line. Similarly, civilian staff working in the Police Force who leave active service due to retirement or expiry of contract and who are interested to continue as PCWF members after their re-employment/contract renewal will have to apply to join the PCWF on-line. Civilian PCWF members who decide to cancel their membership may do so on-line via the SPF CARE portal.

PCWF Ordinary members are accorded complimentary POLWEL Co-Op Society LTD membership. Additionally, all subscribing Ordinary members of the PCWF are also automatically Ordinary members of the Police Sports Association (PSA). PCWF Ordinary members are eligible to apply for all PCWF-related benefits and services.

Subscription fees from members will be collected by way of salary deduction every month. A full month of subscription fee will still be collected on the last month of a member's service in the Force, regardless of the day one leaves the Force. Membership, however, will cease for members on the actual day of leaving the Force.

Ordinary Membership (Non-Paying)

Members of the Volunteer Special Constabulary (VSC) are Non-Paying Ordinary members of the PCWF. These members are not eligible to apply for PCWF-related gifts and grants.

Associate Membership (for Retired PCWF Members)

Retired Police Officers who are ordinary members of the Singapore Police Retirees' Association (SPRA) and civilian officers who were PCWF members for at least 5 years prior to their retirement are eligible to be PCWF Associate members. Associate members are allowed to use PCWF's facilities at special rates.

Honorary Membership

SPF retirees who have made very significant contribution towards the development of police welfare during their service in the Force may be accorded Honorary Life Membership with the PCWF. Approval must be obtained from the Commissioner of Police before such membership is conferred on the person.
